Learn to Paddle Program

One-week recreational summer camp

Age divisions: This program is for children over 5 that have completed their first year of school. 

A week-long recreational program for children that teaches water safety and basic skills in kayak and canoe. This program introduces kids to the sport of competitive paddling and what it’s like to be part of a war canoe team! When not in boats, time is spent playing games and engaging in fitness activities on land.

  • Camp runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. from Monday-Friday. Drop off can be as early as 7:30 a.m. and pick up is by 5:30 p.m.

    Parents are able to select the week(s) they would like to register their child for the Learn to Paddle program during registration.

  • Program cost: $245.00

    A $100 non refundable payment is required at the time of registration. The remainder of the balance is due two weeks before the start of your program. Admin fees for registration payments made by credit card are now 2.4%.

    Please note: Paddlers with outstanding feeds at the start of the program may be removed until fees are paid in full.

  • Please provide your child with a pair of sneakers, change of clothing, sunscreen, a water bottle, bathing suit and a towel.

    Personal Floatation Devices (PFD): All paddlers of any age MUST have a PFD to paddle at Orenda Canoe Club. Please see our Safe Sport page for details.
